According to the latest exit poll, Union Minister Smriti Irani and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are likely to win their seats in Amethi and Wayanad in the general elections. The poll suggests that while Smriti Irani may face a tough competition in Amethi against Congress candidate KL Sharma, Rahul Gandhi seems to be in a strong position in Wayanad.

In the 2019 elections, Smriti Irani won a big victory in Amethi, which is considered a stronghold of the Gandhi family. She defeated Rahul Gandhi, who had held the seat for a long time, by a margin of 55,120 votes. However, this time, the exit poll indicates that the competition between Irani and Sharma could be close.

Meanwhile, in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi is expected to secure another term in the Lok Sabha. The exit poll predicts that he has an advantage over the BJP candidate K Surendran and veteran CPI leader Annie Raja.

The exit poll findings are based on a large amount of data gathered from 5.8 lakh interviews conducted across all 543 parliamentary constituencies in India.

During the election campaign, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a close aide of the Gandhi family, campaigned vigorously in support of the Congress party. She addressed rallies in several states and Union territories, including Amethi and Rae Bareli.

Amethi, which comprises five assembly segments, saw voting in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 20th. It is considered a general seat.

While the exit poll suggests a favorable outcome for Smriti Irani and Rahul Gandhi in Amethi and Wayanad respectively, the final election results may differ. The actual winners will be determined when the votes are counted.
