Hapur News A student in Hapur was molested on her way to a coaching center, and the police initially did not take any action after she complained. The accused, a young man and his associates, had been harassing the student for several days before the incident.
The student said that the accused stood around the coaching center and made objectionable remarks and taunted her every day. A few days ago, while she was coming down from the flyover, one of the accused pulled her dupatta and used obscene language. When people nearby came to her aid, the accused threatened to kill her and fled.
The student lodged a complaint at the police post and police station, but the police ignored her. Frustrated with not getting justice, she considered suicide. However, on the intervention of the Superintendent of Police (SP), a case is now being registered against the accused.
This incident is a reminder of the importance of taking sexual harassment and assault seriously.
