Asian Games 2023: Historic Achievement Celebrated by Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Modi congratulated India on winning a hundred medals in the Asian Games 2023. He mentioned that achieving 100 medals is a significant milestone for India. He stated, “The Asian Games have been an important feat for India. I congratulate our fantastic athletes whose efforts have led India to this historic accomplishment.”

Prime Minister Modi also announced that he will welcome the Indian contingent on 10th October. He posted, “Every outstanding performance has made history and filled our hearts with pride. I will greet our Asian Games contingent on 10th October and interact with the players.”

This time, the Indian contingent aimed for a century, and they have won more than 100 medals. In the 75th year of independence, the country has completed a century of medals in the 19th Asian Games. On the 13th day of the competition, India won nine medals, including gold in hockey, bringing the total medal count to 95. On the 14th day, Indian archers secured four medals, and then the kabaddi team clinched gold, achieving a century of medals for India.

India received five medals on the first day, six on the second, three on the third, eight on the fourth, three on the fifth, eight on the sixth, five on the seventh, 15 on the eighth, seven on the ninth, nine on the tenth, 12 on the eleventh, five on the twelfth, and nine on the thirteenth day. With the fifth medal on the fourteenth day, India achieved a century of medals. Archery and athletics contributed the most medals to India’s century. There are still more medals expected to come for the country, with hopes for gold medals in sports ranging from men’s cricket to kabaddi and badminton.
